Hey, I just got my brake fluid at my dealer (charged $120 which now seems too expensive).
I just brought it to where I got my tires and got a free rotation and wheel balance and they said the brake fluid looked dirty!
I told them I just had it changed and he said he mentioned it because he's used to seeing clear fluid and he said my car's was green.
Is new fluid supposed to be green? Thanks.

Thank you very much.
If it is dirty that dealer will rue the day I ever walked in there!

I just checked with a flashlight-the liquid is dark and cloudy.
Just checked my oil also and it looks orangeish. Maybe they didnt change that either!

I just checked online and I found out that dealers set a price for a service and you pay that no matter how long it takes them.
For instance, I was told my brake fluid change would take 1 hour but it took 1/2 hour. Apparently the tech gets rewarded for finishing the job sooner. How nice.
In my case he didn't do it at all. I chekced the fluid reservoir again and it is almost black, very very dirty.
Called and left a nasty message on the service manager's voicemail and he has yet to call me back. I demanded a full refund of my entire service bill and if I don't get it I will file a complaint with GM and the BBB and sue for the refund.
I bet he's not looking forward to calling me back.

LOL wow!! yeah that's because that place has what the call "flat rate" employees. lots of scamming can go on in that type of environment. I work at a chevy dealer myself and they pay us by the hour so we don't have that kind of scamming going on. just depends on who is running the show.

I checked 2 other dealers-JimieJohnson Chevrolet wanted $138 for the brake fluid exchange and Courtesy Chevrolet wanted $112. I guess City is in the middle (if they actually DO the job!)
I can't see how Evans Tire can only charge $50 for the same job, seems too low to me.

I think it's going to be a one or the other type of thing. I don't know if I want them to touch my car anyway.

wow and it took a half hour? its not super quick to do a brake flush, but everything should have taken longer than a half hour. Your brake fluid should be clear. Oil should be like golden yellow. Sounds like crap service.
