I just got a 2008 cobalt for commuting to a few business I have out of state, got this car for only this reason. Got home and found out my break lights were sticking on, I was told to replace the break light switch as it’s likely having issues. I replaced the switch and now the break lights don’t work at all.

I have checked all fuses and they are good, I have tried to put the old switch back in to see if I could get the break lights to work at all, nothing, the hazards work the blinkers work the running lights work everything works except the break lights. Any one have suggestions?

The two tail lights brake light circuit have their own fuse. Check the fuse under the hood or replace it before replacing the brake light switch. It may now just be a blown fuse
