Hi, I have a 2006 cobalt LS. As of late i have been having a spongy break pedal and over long breaking the pedal slowly goes to the floor. So i bleed the break lines thinking that there may be air in the lines. That didn't really help any. Next I changed my pads, they were going to be done soon anyways. That helped a for quicker stopping but, over long breaking the pedal will still go to the floor. I'm thinking now that my master cylinder is crapping out on me. Went in to the parts place and they don't have one for my car because it is a standard, they only have them for auto's. That seems funny to me, anywho, they think that it may be a dealer only part.
So was wondering if anyone hade some input on my problem and a possible price range. Thanks

You sure you are not experiencing brake fading? If you use your brakes for long periods at a time, they will heat up because of the friction from braking. If they don't get time to cool down, you will get some brake fading. I will check with a friend of mine in a little while (manager of NAPA store in town) to see if the brakes for the automatic are the same as the manual ones. I personally think they are but could be wrong.
