I ended up buying an 09 cobalt from a little side of the road dealership last year. A while ago my check engine light came on but I was unable to afford any big repairs at the time. I took it to autozone and they ran the code and came back with 3 things. One of the issues was related to my spark plugs. I ended up replacing all my plugs. The second was a misfire contributed to the sparkplugs. The second was my intake camshaft timing sensor. I went today and got the timing sensor replaced when I got an oil change and a new air/oil filter. My engine light is still on and when I'm stopped at a red light the car begins to shake and rock back and forth. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I just put 313 bucks into parts and labor today and im not trying to put much more in.

Engine codes are just clues. You can't start putting parts in without diagnostic or you will ruin yourself. I am willing to bet that one of the codes was a P0303. Come back if I'm right and we will pursue the matter.

Actually the code is P0010. I replaced the part that autozone said and it still failed emissions for the same reason.

So you replaced the intake cam actuator and it didn't solve the P0010? The sensor rarely goes bad on the Ecotec.

You can replace the intake actuator yourself it's only one bolt and one connector. The actuator will cost you less than $40. And these will go bad if you don't change your oil regularly or use dinosaur oil.

What reader are you using? No such code as "7ea"

Code should start with a letter
"P" for powertrain
"C" for communication
"B" for body
And so on , sometimes may also end with a letter.
