It's a well documented fact that racing stickers add horsepower, so you may want to hold on to those for a while lol

Jokes aside, congrats on the new-to-you 'Balt. These are good little cars, treat them right and they're return the favor for many miles to come. If you're interested in a new suspension, might I recommend FE5 shocks/struts? These come straight off the turbocharged SS model, are firmer, will provide better handling and road feel and are often times cheaper than the 2.2's FE1 hardware. It's a direct bolt-in replacement, no modifications are needed. It is encouraged to buy either the SS/TC springs or an aftermarket brand of your choice and run shorter endlinks. Many people have done this suspension swap and so far none have regretted it. Highly recommended.

I'll endorse this. I've got the FE5 struts and shocks with some Canuck Motorsport lowering springs and ride quality is great while handling was improved vastly.

For brakes, MP81 has suggested Raybestos rotors and Hawk HPS pads. The rotors are available at Amazon and the pads are available at zzperformance.com. I haven't done the brake upgrade on my car yet, but I trust MP's judgement.

For more power, aside from stickers, you'll probably want to upgrade your intake with a cold air/short ram intake by K&N, Injen, or ZZP, and upgrade your exhaust. There are a few choices for exhaust, but most people around here suggest getting a ZZP Midlength Header/200 cell catted Downpipe combo and a ZZP catback. That's what I've got on mine and I am loving it.

So, basic list of bolt ons:
1. Cold Air Intake (K&N, Injen, or ZZP)
2. LSJ Throttle Body (Off the supercharged SS. You'll need a tune to use this)
3. Headers & Downpipe (ZZP Midlength 1.5" primariees with catted 2.5" downpipe)
4. Catback (ZZP 2.5" or GM Performance Parts)
5. Computer Tune (Needed for the Throttle Body)

Just a note to add on Parthros' post, the LSJ throttle body will only mate with an LE5 (2.4) intake manifold and only using the ZZP harness and connector. For it to work, you'll need a tune, either Trifecta/BNR or HP tuners. If you don't much care to get the adapter pieces, the LE5 (2.4) throttle body will bolt up easier, but you may not make as much power and those TBs are generally more expensive.

So, is the LAP intake manifold the same as the LE5 one?

Edit: Nevermind, found some stuff on css.net. Looks like the LAP intake manifold is the same as the 2008+ LE5 intake manifold. However, the least restrictive intake manifold is the one from the 2006-2007 LE5. So, it looks like the L61 intake manifold would need to be replaced with any of the LE5 or LAP ones (although the best option is a 2006 or 2007 LE5) to be able to use the LSJ throttle body.

If that's wrong, someone please correct me.
