While driving down the highway at about 65mph my car makes and popping sound from the motor so I pull off at the next exit into a gas station before I put the car in part it stalls, I noticed all my lights dim down just before it stalls so I thought it was the alternator. It was to late at night to really get a good look at the car so I go out in the morning open the hood and there’s oil everywhere! From the front of the car to the back has oil sprayed everywhere and on the ground there’s a nice size puddle of oil. I checked my dip stick and it was bone dry. My valves are tapping hard, which just tells me there’s no oil in the car, seems like if I had a seal going bad not all my oil would have just released at the same time. Any ideas of what this could be? If I can’t figure it out soon I’ll have to trade it in.

Probably clipped something on the road and punched a hole in the oil pan.

If you ran it low on oil you may as well put a engine in it or trade it.

I wish it was the oil pan coby, but it’s worse, I have a friend who’s brother is a life long mechanic and after giving him all the details and lots of pictures we have come to the conclusion that the cylinder head has cracked and is just pouring out oil as fast as you can put it in. Looks like my cobalt has took its last drive :(
