Hello,

I am out of state and the car is starting to act. I need your help. :smilie_flagge13: Car with 90K miles. No sound on high speed. At low speed (5 miles) removing the foot from brake or going into a pot-hole, the knocking sound like metal on wood. Nothing on the brake side looks loose. Wheels are checked, all torqued to 100. Sway bar link changed 2 years ago. 2 questions:

  • Is this a safety issue?
  • Is this Sway Bar?
  • Can the Sway Bar changed without jacking the car?

Thank you.

it sounds like a CV Joint. I have the 09 LT and i just hit 91K miles and have the same sound. Took it to a friend and he said it sounds like the CV. I have a question though. Is it when you are slowing down or is it constant?

Driving above 40 miles, no sound either accelerating or decelerating. The sound is there when the foot is removed from brakes. Again, at higher speeds the braking or releasing of it does not cause the sound.

Maybe just a loose caliper.
