No, you need a 22733523.

Or 22733524 if it came with remote start. Check in the trunk your RPO list under the mat to the left. for AU0, AP3 or AP8 and come and I'll tell you exactly.

Several web sites list the 15252034 and 22733524 as interchangeable. Could the the latter be a new number for the same part?

Yes the 15252034 and the 22733524 are interchangeable the *524 has remote start and the*034 doesn't but even though the 22733523 and the 15252034 look exactly alike they are not interchangeable since they have a different chip set and use a different RCDLR. Did you find your RPO list?
05-06 with non-remote start used the 22733523.

This chip set seen here in the 523 is 0190001 where the other 2 use chip set 0218-002

RPO codes;

AU0 = Remote keyless entry
AU3 = Electric door locks (w/o keyless)
AU0 & AP8 = remote keyless entry (w/o remote start)
AU0 & AP3 = remote keyless entry (with remote start)

He could have been more helpful by telling you which one you needed. Dealers!?!?!?!?makes you wonder sometimes.

assuming he is correct, that the car supports keyless entry, then the fob called for is the 2273... my only concern was, even though the 1525... fob is the wrong fob, could it work on my car. the dealer said try it and see. Colby is, no doubt, correct it won't work. By the way he wanted $80 for the fob and an additional $70 for programming. Why do these gougers try to push away customers? Don't they want to sell new cars?

They only look at the bottom dollar. Here they charge $225 for one programmed to your car after tax. I charge $50. $30 for the FOB and $20 to program but I have no overhead except the Mrs.

Call them again and ask them which remote your car needs, maybe try a different GM dealer. But I'm 99% sure you need a 22733523 unless you have AP3 RPO code then you could use either the 15252034 if you don't want to use the remote start or the 22733524 if it is so equipped. So far in 5 years the only 06 I've seen equipped with the remote start was a Pursuit GT fully loaded.

I found a label titled "service parts identification" on the left trunk bottom. it had lots of 3 character codes. none of which were au0, au3, ap3 or ap8.

Take a picture and post it and I'll try to figure it out.
