I have a 06 Cobalt. The cruise control cuts out sometime when I go over a bump. I have had it to the dealer and he replaced the brake light switch, which he said was defective, but the problem persists. It is really the only problem I have with the car but I do like to use the car to visit my grandchildren which is mostly highway driving and it is a pain to have to keep resetting the cruise control or driving without it.
Any suggestions? The dealer was very upset that it wasn't fixed the first time, but made no offer to refund the money or credit it to whatever is needed to repair it. My local mechanic can't find anything either.
Thanks,
JP

Three things to look for here.

1. Has the spring return on the brake pedal gone weak?

2. Are all the bulbs good in the high brake light?

3. Have you ever had the "BCM" connectors cleaned and reseated?
