that's actually the kind of service I'm thinking to offer since don't have a shop, but in my opinion this is the best since people can be in their job or do whatever they have to do while I don my thing...

haha well got any tips?
well I? personally use a steam cleaner kind of expensive but well you can use the high pressure stream from a car wash, or if you know someone who own a high pressure washer a good quality degreaser then let it chill with the degreaser and this is when the pressure washer comes handy

---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:00 PM ----------

then when you dry it out get armor all or any other kind of all purpose plastic interior cleaner and damp all the wires hoses and all the visible parts in the engine bay. you know waht I'll make a HOW TO clean proffesionaly you engine bay just for you my friend..

hey go for it. do what you love and are good at.

after you get all the legal stuff out of the way for starting a business such as EIN and such, is marketing, which you seemed to be wondering about. as far as online marketing goes, using social media such as facebook for a business fanpage (friends become a fan of your business and spread the word to their friends and family) or twitter to show pix of your latest detailed car, etc. can be useful. also posting on, or becoming a vendor on local area car forums wouldn't hurt. can even look into how much banner ads cost for those sites. mass emails to all your known contacts for them to see that you're starting a business, and for them to pass the announcement onto whoever they think would also be interested works as well. oh and creating a website to give you and the business a presence online is always a good idea.

regular paper/street marketing, host a 'open for business' party w/ fam and friends on your first official day of offering your services, get your guests to pay to have their cars detailed with a special discount as they are your first customers. also hand out certificates to everyone to give to a friend that will allow them and their friend to get, say, 15% discount as a first time customer and/or for referring someone else who used your services. then the ads in the paper, grocery store bulletin boards, postcards to people in your area, etc.

let me know if you have any marketing/advertising questions :)
