Ok, heres the deal:

My key fob doesnt work anymore (tried new batteries, nothing)
So I'm stuck unlocking my car with my key now.
When I do this, the car alarm goes off EVERY SINGLE TIME when I open the door.
This is annoying as hell, and is there ANY way I can disable this?

The only way to get it to stop honking is if I crank the car up.
Which is a pain in the ass if I just need to get something out of my car.

Thanks guys
Garrett

EDIT: 9-26-10 here is how I fixed my key fob temporarily.

Ok, so i can apparently push down on the locks instead of using the lock button and that will not enable the alarm when I go to unlock it with my key.

Ill check in a bit
Still looking to see if anyone knows a seakret way to disable the alarm

I dread the day this happens to me. Besides manually locking the doors, the only other option I know of is unplugging the horn (which probably isn’t the best thing to do).
No, I HAVE to have my horn. Im constantly honking at people being dumbasses on the road lol

Are you good at soldering?

This happened to one of my keyfobs too, I soldered the battery contact holder back into place and it started working again, of course the keyfob reset was required.

By good at soldering I mean, the solder can't end up all over the keyfob, just were it belongs.

soldering guns are cheap, 15-20 bucks, you should always have one or three around the house (i can never find them so I accumulate them).

Thats the fastest way, or you can ship it to me (with a couple bucks and return shipping money) and I can fix it and ship it back, but that will take longer.

I'm sure walmart has them.

I got my butane one at home depot, radio shack has them.

They would be with electrical repair tools usually.

I fyou do alot of work on your car, car audio, etc, they are great to have at home.
