Hi guys, first time posting but just wanted to know if anyone had this problem with there 2008 Chevy Cobalt daytime running lights. Everything is powering up after I found the purple loop wire. (thanks to all the previous threads help) I replaced it and it seams to be a 10' piece of 20awg wire. I noticed it heats up pretty good and have wondered if anyone tried replacing the loop wire with a 1K ohm resistor? It looks like the loop wire has a resistance of 985ohms and I figured a 1K ohm resistor would be a better replacement than keeping the old wire. I just wanted to know if someone did this or if there is a better way to keep the wire from heating up.

I believe member Coby made a custom wiring harness for the DRL system years ago. He used some sort of transistor, I’m sure you can find his write up somewhere.

GM goofed up on the 07+ cobalt DRL harness and most of them ended up burning up. To my knowledge GM never came out with an updated harness.
