I currently have a 2008 Pontiac G5 with a bad eng It has a 2.2 L61. I got a good eng from a damaged 2006 cobalt 2.2 L61. I discovered the the cover for the Valve Rocker & Camshaft are different. and the Ignition Coil & harness are different.

Do I need to swap out the Hairiness to fit the eng?

The cover from the cobalt will fit the bad eng but the bad eng's cover will not fit the good engine.

The heads are different and the reluctor wheel on the crankshaft are different. That engine will not work in yours without swapping those parts. You need one from an 07 or 08 if you want one that you can just drop in

You would use the cams from the 07-08 head, honestly though you would be better off financially just selling the 06 engine and buying one from an 07-08. You will wind up spending a few hundred bucks swapping the head and crankshaft over.

Bare minimum you would need to buy head bolts, timing kit, all the gaskets, bearings, and all the bolts for the bottom half of the block. Even if you go with cheap aftermarket parts it will likely cost more than buying a low mile 07-08 engine ready to drop in
