No. The 2.2 probably makes about the same amount of power. Have you ever driven a Celebrity? Have you drive a Celebrity lately? See what I did there? It was their advertising slogan back in the day.
Yeah that’s a no go on GM V6 swaps. You would likely have to find a way to move the firewall back by modifying it. Or the radiator support. Or both. The fact that the Cobalts computer is hard to get around is another problem. You might get an engine and trans installed and running, but there’s the problem of all of the electrical items in the car that won’t work, like gauges.
If you’re planning on a swap, be ready to spend a lot of money. Going that far might as well swap an LNF 2.0 Gen III. At least it would fit easily. Still have to get around some of the electronics.
