I drive a 2009 cobalt. One day out of the blue when i went to start my car the engine continually cranked but would not turn over. I have checked the battery, fuel, and replaced spark plugs. I'm hoping to be able to fix this myself if anyone can give me advice on finding the problem.

Check your underhood fuses. ECM, injector or IGN 1.

Pull them out completely to check them because corrosion on the tabs could also cause an open circuit.

Coby7 got here before me. I was going to add that there are multiple ignition fuses. Switch to the ones that glow when blown. Worth their weight in gold!!!

Check the big BCM fuse in the trunk (50amp) if this fuse is blown car won't start.

Okay my guess would be, if you don't have a code to give us, Crank Position Sensor.
