ok so i really want GM springs. I have an LS balt and I wan to lower my car 1-1.5 inches. I want to use FE5 SS/SC springs but I fear that the drop is not enought to be worth it but i dont want aftermarket springs. Can i cut the FE5 springs a little bit to guaruntee me the drop I want? and if so how many inches do I cut off each spring? thanks for you input.

Not a fan of cutting springs. Best to go with one of the aftermarket springs if you want to get lower.

I put the rear FE5 Springs on my 06 LS and it only lowered it .25"!

If you look in the Cobalt factory books at what Chevy did you will find that the body height of all the Cobalt models is the same -- the springs and shocks actually adjust for the different wheel height combinations.
