My dad has an early 2000's f-150 flare side. It has around 200,000 miles. Last night it started doing something weird. When he turns his truck off the head lights stay on, to get then off he has to turn the high beams on. (The highs don't come on unless the truck is running). So they act as an off switch while it's off. Would it be the light switch which is bad? Even though it operates everything else fine? I'm no mechanic and am learning from this forum. Thanks in advance for any replies.

the light switches in that style f-150 were notorious for going bad with all sorts of symptoms. Definitely check the relay first

We had a guy look at it and he said it's the switch. I guess if the side markers don't come on and the lights do it's the switch. He's getting one for around $50
