hey guys hows it goin? well i decided last night after some thought that id like to paint my bowties i kind of like them but the silver and gold against my white balt just kind of erked me... i was going to try and do it myself but i know little about auto paint and i've read some threads but still didnt feel confident, so i decided to talk to one of the painters at the body shop at work to get some extra advice. long story short since i just wanted the bowties done right now the guy i talked to (cool dude forgot his name though lol... i think its rene) said he would do them for free. i also asked him about the light grey pieces on the interior (i want flat black) and he said he would do them for around $100 under the table. Now does that sound resonable to you guys for professional work under the table? anyways i figured id decide after asking you and getting my bowties back tomorrow after work. ill post them when i get them back on the car as well... also aside from the paint im looking to spend roughly $50 to 75$ on the car (ive been in a spending mood lately) but i dont know what i can do for that much any ideas that might add a little pop to the car?? performance or appearance?? i also cut out the silencer on the stock intake but there really isnt much of a noticeable difference i havent got on the highway yet though so... i dunno what do yall think???

yeah... sorry but i dont care enough about grammar or spelling so please bare with me...

$100 for a do it yourself job? I would never take it to a shop.

Even if you mess up, you will only notice it from really close. All you do is take the bowtie off, sand it, paint it, and put it back on the car. Why would you pay $100 for something you could do yourself?

I was no expert about body kits but i installed a coupe SS body kit on my SEDAN LS, something which would have cost a hella lot more than $100 professionally.

Uhh, get some mirror covers if you havent, tint your tail lights, debadge the rear, just search around for easy mods.

If I could find a guy to do the interior trim pieces for $100 then I'd do it because I do not want to screw those up, and as for 50-75 dollars buy a bottle of nite-shade $20 and black out your tails forsure

I'd do it myself TBH... what if down the road you dont like the flat black, and want to re-do it? You wont know how to change it & there's another $100 or IF you do it yourself the 2nd time, that's $100 wasted in the beginning... Ive changed mine like 3 times already & did it myself... no way to learn unless you try. And dont worry about messing up, some sandpaper & water will fix it..........

Nightshades can be kinda hard to find. But some auto shops do carry it. IMO the interior is worth it to have professionally painted. But i would never pay for the bow-ties to be painted.

okay well i'll just do some research to find the niteshade im good at searching for stuff... but i agree with you on the painting completely thing is cuz im the emblems are being done for free i have to wait untill the guy has free time and gets caught up at work which is understandable but it sucks... im impatient...lol..
