Front center Jack point on 2007 chevy cobalt?

I was wondering if there was a safe Center Point at the front of the vehicle to jack it up so that I can put my drip pan to change my thermostat? I don't want a coolant leak spot in my parking spot so that I don't get in trouble with not only the apartment complex but the EPA:confused:. I'm also changing the thermostat out myself for the first time and following instructions very carefully. If anyone has any good tips please feel free to reply. But yes, I was wondering if there's a Center jack point so that I can slide the drip pan under my car to collect any coolant leakage?

I wouldn't recommend raising it up anywhere in the center - the subframe there is pretty well rounded and not really made for jacking. The last time I did do that, the car slid off the jack (granted, a stupid trolley one with a piece of wood on it), and the jack went right into the radiator and I had to change it.

Just jack the car up via the jack pads on the side and put jack stands under the fore-aft sections of the subframe and you should have more than enough clearance for a drain pan, as well as a considerably safer working situation.

I too had the car slide off the floor jack while it was on the front sub frame. And yeah, ended up puncturing the radiator. I'd do ramps if available, wouldgive way more room to work with a catch pan.

if you have access to wood and circular saw, or even a hand saw to put an angle on the edge and screw a few 2x6 together with one shorter so it's kind of a ramp. Works great, drive it up, only 3 inches off the ground, no way to fall off if made right, perfect for drain pan, it's how I do my oil changes.
The safe spot for jacking up the front of the Cobalt is located just behind the front wheels. A large boss on the frame rails. It also raises the rear wheel some what..but after you put a jack stand in and repeate the process on the other side…both the front wheels will be up.
Now YMMV and while one may get away with it many times, lifting a Cobalt from the front of the engine cradle is not GM supported….and you are likely to need a new radiator and…
