So my front speakers have been flickering in and out, I'm leaning towards it being a wiring issue as my speakers will just randomly start working, particularly on hot days.

How much of a nightmare is it to pull things apart to try and troubleshoot this? I'm torn on whether or not I want to put the effort in. It's a 2009 Cobalt LT

Basically from what I can tell, GM dropped the ball on placing the speakers; the rear of the speaker where the contacts are seem to just hang in the open of the "rain channel" part of the door, so they corrode after a while and cut out. When I got my car, both front speakers were out, so I bought some $50 speakers off of Crutchfield with some foam baffles to protect them, and replaced the door speakers. It really isn't a long project, took an afternoon.
