So I have the infamous fuel leak. I looked under the car and no it's coming from the fuel pump area. So the questions is what exactly are people replacing so I know what parts to buy. Is it jut the fuel pump I need to replace or something related to it? Is there a DIY for this somewhere?

My car is in oregon so not sure if the recall will affect me.

Thanks in advance for any help or input.

They recalled the fuel pump in HOT climate states only for cracking.
I have a recall letter warranting the fuel pump for 8 years or 120,000 miles for cracking. I believe these letter were sent out to the WARM climate states, I'm in NM.

What part of Oregon ?
I've lived in Roseburg growing up.

I thought it was the lines that broke where they connected to the fuel pump...or am I wrong

Been here, done that

It is the lines that crack, but you have to replace the fuel pump to get them. All in one assembly. If you can drain your tank, it is easy to drop and replace. Less than an hour on mine. Best way to drain a tank I have found, is rig up some tubing, not hose, as it is too big around, on an outboard motor primer bulb. Fish it down through the filler neck, squeeze a few times and let it siphon out. It's not fast, but it works.
