Brought it in to the dealer, got the phone call that it was burning oil, low compression in the first cylinder, and oil in the turbo. they pointed at the intake and IC pipe and said no way warranty fix. I called GM and am hoping to hear from them Tuesday about the matter. but with my luck no matter what happens they will point at two parts and make me pay $7000 for a new motor.

Thats what you get for being a devils fan....lol J/K

dude that sucks so bad...i love how dealers blame everything from overheating to a cracked block on an intake....hope you hear good news on tuesday though. seems like as of late alot of people that call GM have been taken care of.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

They have to PROVE that the intake/ic pipe caused it. Otherwise, by LAW, they MUST fix it under warranty. Threatening a lawyer is usually a pretty good way to go about this.

/\ This. Actually name the Act and theyll shit a brick. They know the general public doesnt know this exists. Chances are if you threaten to publicize and/or press charges, theyll be happy to fix it.

I'm hoping I do get it fixed and don't go through the runaround cause I have no idea how long this car will get me to and from work. I had my hopes up when I was getting a ride home from the tech before I got the news on the car. Apparently he said someone had a lot more "bolt-ons" and got their engine replaced under warranty... But then the same idiot came back three weeks later needing a new engine talking about having issues at the track lol... who brings a brand new engine tuned to the track and tells the dealership.... I was like wow.. no wonder they are skepticle about my car and it's two aftermarket parts... thanks for the heads up on that Act by the way. especially since the tech who called never said the parts cause the failure he just said "Chevy asks us if their are aftermarket parts, we say yes and they say they won't fix it under warranty"

Ok now thats out of the way

My car was 100% stock when it went to the dealer and after 4 weeks they couldnt figure out why my coolant was mixing with my oil, they went on these forums and said of it says you have this, We wont fix it. I as well called GM explaining that the dealer wont even look at my car now and did not see if it was the porous block issue some people were having. They sided with the dealer and there is nothing I could do. a forum member who i wont name, helped me greatly and convinced the dealer that none of my Bolt-On parts (Way more then you) could have caused this issue, Got them to tear the engine down and find what i have been telling them 97 days before when i brought my car there the first time. Porous Block Defect from the factory and Was replaced under warranty no questions asked after that. PM me, and i will get you his name so you can PM him. I hope he can help you as much as he helped me. He is indeed the nicest guy ive ever spoken with. I am very thankful!

cool thanks.... DEVILS all the way... we had a shitty coach and a lot of issues to start the season... now we are on a roll, 6-0-1... beating the best teams too... other than the islanders lol. back to the car...

yeah i had an issue with another dealership that said I needed a new MAF cause by a K&N filter... which was bull, i knew it was loose wiring... I called GM they sat on it so I fixed it myself... got a few calls weeks later about resolutions and never called them back... all they had to do was put in a $30 clip and heatcrimp the wires together... *******s. there is no way they can say those two parts did this to my engine... the IC piping doesn't carry oil in it to feed into the turbo and nor does the dry filter attached to the intake tube... and none of them decompress a cylinder... and with GM's "Learn Down" feature.. any bolt-on doesn't make more power or lengthen the rev band so they don't really have an argument at 35,000 miles on an engine.. I'll probably leave my car bone stock once it's fixed and get something else...

You can contact GM directly about dealers trying to screw people over. GM does NOT like this happening one bit, and will usually fix it.

Mod as you please. :)

Anytime a dealer tries this shit, GM's warranty line is the quickest way to usually getting a remedy. There isn't any reason an intake and IC piping would cause the issues you are having.

already contacted GM they will call me back tuesday after they speak with the dealer. i don't trust them really... they took forever the last warranty issue i had which was the connection for the MAF... the dealer yelled oil from K&N tainted the sensor.. while the GM people agreed... and i knew the whole time it was loose wiring... so i bought the new pigtail for the MAF myself and had a different dealer install it and the problem was solved... so if they give me grief about a $50 project... god knows what will happen with a $7000 project.

Your charge piping will have nothing to do with this issue, as stated above, mention the act, cannot remember the name, I think it was the Morrison Act or something, they proably just looked at the charge piping and figured you were modified to an extent to where you did motor work, therefore it was your issue not their's; when in reality your completely stock motor wise.

I had to take higher actions...they agreed with dealer almost instantly lol. That process was useless for me.

Yeah i had that issue with a MAF sensor issue... dealer cried K&N oil tainted MAF when really it was bad wiring. they sold that story to the warranty peeps who went back and forth... finally i got the part and had a different dealer install it.. never bothered to call back to see what the "resolution" gm came up with was...

There is a big difference between an over-oiled K&N filter (They sometimes are over-oiled from K&N) possibly messing up a MAF sensor and your symptoms supposedly being caused by the IC piping. The IC piping should never cause the engine to have low compression oil to leak into the turbo housing. Hell, I'd say the stock IC piping is more of a liability than the aftermarket is.

And since this is a 7K issue, if GM tries to side with the dealer, call a lawyer.

i think what bugged me most about the MAF sensor was that I knew it was the wiring and even the Onstar tech said the codes are voltage sortages not messages from the sensor... dealership said the OnStar techs aren't real techs just people who read from books and don't know anything about cars.... seems there's some "family" issues there lol

Hmm...I thought we kept politics out of this forum. That is not an intelligent statement by the way.
