i have a 2005 ls and i was wondering if i took a ss or sport gauge cluster that goes up to 140 or 160 could i use that in my car? or do you have to have a specific cluster for the car?

You will need to get it calibrated to read correctly is all.

Don't even think you need to get it calibrated if you change the whole cluster. Recalibration is only necessary if you change the facia only.

I'm assuming you want to change out the whole cluster right, and not just the faces? You can swap any cobalt cluster you want with yours. It will plug in like your stock one. With that said, if you want all the DIC functions to work you will have to swap with a cluster from a 05 cobalt/g5 (and I'm pretty sure you can swap with one from an 06 too).

I do believe so, only one connector pinout for all cars for 05-06.
