Well, I've had my car for a little over two years and have put 70K miles on it (bought with 30). I am literally 100 miles past 100K and I have my first issue with the car (other then wheel bearings and routine maintenance).

I had this issue when driving around town yesterday, my gauges (all three, gas, speed and RPM zero themselves out as if they are turned off while driving) and then magically fix themselves in a couple seconds. It happened twice close together the first time it happened. The next time I drove it happened again (short trips).

I am concerned with this getting worse, I can't afford to keep driving around not knowing what my speed is, etc. I checked the fuse for the gauges and it seems to be fine, both ends of it light up when tested.

Where else should I start looking for an issue. I have seen a couple videos where other people have a guage problem, but mine is different in the sense the gauges act like they are turned off. On another note though, the backlights stay on if I am driving at night, the guages just act like their off

You probably have a chafed wire touching somewhere. It's a short wire between the cluster and BCM, maybe 4 feet. You might just want to give a little tug each way on the IP harness just in case it's touching somewher. This won't fix the chaf but might move it so it doesn't cause you any problems for an other 100000miles.
