Okay, so I have the Cobalt Series aftermarket gauges, one is oil pressure and the other is voltage. I have hooked both of them up, and my volts is working correctly, but when I started my car i didn't have the sensor for the oil pressure gauge plugged into the sending unit because i was checking for leaks. The pressure gauge shot up to 100 psi and now rests at this pressure, even though i have it hooked up and such to the unit. Any suggestions on what to do? Does anyone have this style gauge?

you try disconnecting the gauge, then reconnecting it to reset it???

you installed the sensor for it? try disconnecting the power to the sensor too

Power to the sensor, all there was is a plug that went onto the sending unit. This how it goes: adapter into block, sending unit, then the harness for the gauge (sends the psi it is getting to the gauge) none of the three wires was a power one? Im not quite sure what you are asking here

i meant to disconnect the sensor altogether, to reset it. something must have received a mixed signal during installation

If you have an electric oil pressure gauge it has to have power to it...red wire for 12 volts, black wire to ground, and green or brown wire to sending unit. I found that grounding the black wire is critical -- do you have it grounded to the block or another location? When I installed mine it did not read correctly (read real high too) until I grounded it on the engine.

i have it grounded inside the car, where on the block do you have it grounded

My red wire is going to the IGN fuse in the fusebox,

and there are three wires coupled together that i have going to the sending unit (purple gray and something else)

I have my ground on the cylinder head. looking at the cylinder head from the front, look on the driver's side -- mine had a threaded bolt hole that wasn't used. I put my ground there.

The other wires (like gray) should be for the lighting. Check your instructions to make sure you have it wired right.
