Anyone know if the light for the gear shift indicator is replacable with a bulb of the same size with a simple pull out the old one and put in the new one? It looks as if the light part of a harness or something. I would like to replace it with an led to go with the blue interior lighting look I'm going for. Plus the bulb no longer works.

Just a wedge bulb like a 194 and socket inside a white plastic housing.

the one in my car was a little smaller than the 194 i don't what size it is because i replaced them with leds instead of the bulb.
all i used were pre-wired 5mm leds w/grommet from advaced auto, they come in a 3-pack i drilled into the bottom of the indicator.

Mine might be a 194 wedge bulb, but looks too small. I'll have a look sometime when I have it all apart again. It's getting annoying at night not being able to see what gear I'm shifting into, even though I don't have to look. Mainly cause my girlfriend drives it and can't tell.

I said they are a wedge "like" the 194 didn't say it was. I think you can reach the socket by pulling out the cup holders, if you don't have XXLG hands.

Still having problems with the gear shift indicator light. I used some pre-wired leds from advanced auto and still nothing. They are wired right, white to white and black to black.

Gonna have to get a multi-meter and test the wires tomorrow to see if it getting power.

When I read "shift light" I thought you were referring to this. I was like WTF there's no bulb in the RPD lol

So I looked into my problem more and the wires for my gear indicator light are dead. I've tried several bulbs and leds and hooked them up to the wires and nothing.

Is it possible to rewire a set of leds to turn on when the HVAC and gauge cluster light up, like they are suppose to? Tap into a fuse or something? I don't want to have to wire up a seperate switch just for this. Already have one switch for my led setup I'm planning.

This is confusing the hell out of me cause all I never touched the stock bulb itself. I just removed the plastic piece with the gear numbers on it.
