this is for blackbalts. i didnt wanna clutter the random thread with a bunch of pics

the gopro 3 is a lot smaller and lighter than the previous models and has a rechargeable battery instead of regular ones

comes with adhesive mounts which i think would be a lot safer than the suction cup for anything car, motor sports, biking, boating etc.(the guys on the r6 forum im on have told me stories of their suction cup mount flying off) the curved is for helmet mounting and the straight is for any flat surface

i have the black edition so it came with a little remote but i believe everything else also comes with the silver edition. a waterproof case and a standard one, a few different pivot arms and whatnot

and you can use this camera for pretty much anything else you want. biking, jet ski, ski, snowboard, take it on vacation, take it anywhere since its so small,. hell even "home movies"

so unless you get a hell of a good deal on a 2 and i mean like 100 bucks because with white edition 3 is 200(its only like 5 mega pixels though) just spend the 300 and get the silver and use it all the time for your autox and whatever else you might go do. it will be 300 well spent

I borrowed one of these off my friend for snowboarding! These things are supper sick and very good quality, Always wanted to buy one, never thought of putting it on my car, though just seems boring to watch unless your racing on the track/

Appreciate it. Hopefully I have an extra $300 by June when we go to Proving grounds.

Yea that would be tight. I'm ready to get the r6 out and use the gopro with it.

Gotta get new fork seals first though:(

There's also a lot of other goodies you can get for them. Just look at best buy and there's a bunch. And I believe there's another company that makes even more stuff for it

What do you film on the bike?

I miss my old YZR. Too fast and too young, wish I had kept it but the cops were on the look out for a very tall guy on a very yellow bike!!

Wheelies and whatnot:). Plus I like riding to places I haven't been before so it would be cool to take it on the journey. I want to ride to the "tail of the dragon" down in NC. That would be craaazy

You like autox. You should buy a track bike and do track days sometime. Everyone has told me that if you do it once you're hooked

I haven't been on a bike in about 9 years. Once I'm done throwing money away on the cobalt I can think about another vehicle. But two cars, an SUV, two massive dogs, a gf, and student loans eat up a bunch of my free cash!

We watched some of the drag bikes last year at the raceway, that looks absolutely insane. Although that is roughly what we would do on the street as kids with less protection so you know!!

Either way you definately got me sold on the 3 over the 2. Worst case scenario I'll borrow someone's until I can get my own. thanks for the info!

I want to get one, for fun and just driving in general to document anything that might happen. Especially if I get a bike, always good to have one in case. I borrowed one back when I had my SS still and went to Va, got some good footage just never got around to making a video.

I have the silver edition hero3 and the original HD hero. I fell in love with my HDhero and used it for everything, autoX, car cruises, skating, ziplines, and diving. Worked great all across the board! The silver edition of the hero 3 is essentially a revamped version of the HD hero, except that its smaller and it has wifi. I much prefer the new version as a helmet cam due to its smaller size and weight, and the wifi feature works great! I downloaded the gopro app on my ipod touch and ipad. The app has a preview feature so you cann setup your shot better, you can adjust your settings on the fly, and turn your camera on/off remotely, and start recording on the fly. No more getting out of your car to start recording! There's also a new edditing program you can download from gopro. It gives you a little bit of control on the quality of the video.

All the mounts are the same pretty much, but they revamped their suction cup mount. Basically you can remove the arm and make it so you can mount your camera directly to the suction cup.
