I just got a 2007 Cobalt 4 door auto. It is making a drivetrain growling noise that starts at about 30mph coming out of the right side and increases with speed. It gets quieter when turning to the left, louder turning to the right. So even though it didn't really sound like a wheel bearing, I replaced the right side wheel bearing. No change in the noise. The right side axle shaft is seeping a bit at the transmission and seems to have excessive side to side slop where it goes into the transmission. I am thinking this might be the cause of the noise. No real noticeable vibration, and I did the parking lot circle test and no CV clicking noise. Anyone run into this before?
