to answer your question, your camera tries to make up for the lack of lighting and it boosts the ISO to a high number like 1600, thats what makes it grainy. Keep the ISO at around 200-600 and itll be better, but you might need a tripod.

That mazda has some sick ass green rims.

yeah i need serious practice. to be getting grainy shots like that with a d100 is embarassing. i sorta like the look but at the same time a clearer shot would look way better.
