Right now i'm running Pro Kit springs and FE1 shocks. But I want to go with Sportlines because it's not as low as I would like.
I know that everyone says that the Sportlines don't handle as good.

But will Sportlines with FE5 shocks be better or worse handling then the Pro Kit with FE1 shocks.

Because I Don't want to lose good the handling that I have now.

agreed. sportlines and FE1 are not a problem. I don't think your handling will be noticeably different... you'll just notice bumps more. avoid bumpy roads.

Ok, here's how this works. A shock controls the spring. Without a shock, you would just bounce and bounce and bounce until eventually it stopped. horrible nonsense.

The valving in your FE1 shock is soft. It allows more spring travel and oscillation in compromise for a softer ride.

the Fe3 valving is slightly stiffer, making a compromise between performance and ride for a sportier car.

the FE5 system is the most aggressively valved shock setup. What you lose in ride comfort, you gain in spring control. The shock doesn't allow the spring to oscillate.

What you guys aren't understanding, and what a lot of people don't either, is the spring simply supports the weight of the car. A spring is rated in lbs. for example, stock SS/SC springs are ~400lb springs. that means it takes 400lbs to compress it one inch. Now, they're progressive rate springs, so its hard to measure them.

You springs support the car, and the stiffer they are, the better they withstand body roll.

your shock does all the work. It keeps that stiffer spring in check. A soft spring is lazy and bounces slowly. A stiffer spring will rebound much faster, and make your car seem to jump.

With a stiffer spring, you need a stiffer shock, or the spring is not controlled correctly.

Your FE1 struts/shocks are not designed for an aggressive spring, and will wear out quickly because they are overworked.

save up and get SS/TC struts, and pedders. More expensive, but less that Koni's alone, and much less than coilovers, which don't really handle any better.

Pedders are not as soft as sportlines, so the ride will be slightly rougher. But at high speeds, they're incredibly stable, and over multiple consecutive bumps they ride much better than any coil bind spring.

If you're looking for a handling spring, pedders is the only way to go.

I think that's what I'll go with because most of my driving is all highway with the usual expansion joints every 10 feet or so.

It drives me absolutely insane.

If GM felt the need to upgrade certain components, there was a reason.

but, some people honestly don't know, and i like explaining it. If they try to tell me i'm stupid and FE1 is just fine, well, that's when it gets annoying.
