Does anyone have any ideas on good aftermarket headers that would be good to stick in a 2006 chevy cobalt lt coupe?

ZZP is probably the most well known manufacturer of aftermarket headers for our cars, and arguably the best as well. They offer three different types for the 2.2s; shorty, midlength and longtube.

Shorty - good low end, weak high end
Midlength - moderate low and high end
Longtube - weak low end, good high end

You'd also need to consider the cat options (400, 200 and catless) for your downpipe and whether or not to have a wideband bung installed.

Is the EGR sensor on the stock manifold?

no the EGR sensor detects exhaust gas flow through the EGR passage which can be located in a bunch of different places on the exhaust. Does a cobalt have the port on the manifold or somewhere else?

The older cavaliers used EGR valves to reduce emissions. Cobalts don't use them. If you want a decent looking header, zzp makes the best bolt on.

Keep in mind the only thing you MIGHT be gaining is sound. You will not notice any performance gain.
agreed, it wont gain you much pickup, you need to have the exhaust flow balanced with no choke points and obviously a pcm tune to get that engine pumping more air. You may feel on a shorty header a lower quicker pickup, but nothing to really gain much power. Maybe a few ft lbs tq, but nothing more.

With my current bolt-ons (CAI, Midlength header/DP and catback) and no tune, what I noticed is a loss of low end torque. Where the car used to pull well in it's 4k rpm sweetspot, it now feels a bit limp. The trade-off is past that, it pulls much better than stock all the way to redline. So it's almost as if my powerband has moved up. I know she's making a little more hp/tq, but not by very much.

well you lost it where the header came into play. Yours is set for mid range rpm increase, just like performance camshafts, you can get street, street/strip, strip/race.

They also had 1.5"
ZZP offers 1.5" which is ideal if your heads have not been ported. If you want just basic bolt ons and a tune for a 2.2L, the 1.5" is best for flow.
