I have a thump sound whenever I start to move forward and again when slowing down. Sounds like something is moving when I accelerate and goes back when slowing down. Only momentarily not continuous.

If I have the car parked in drive on the ground and rotate the front right tire as far as it will go by hand forward and back I can feel the thump can not determine where it is coming from. Any suggestions as to where to start would be appreciated. Wheel bearings were replaced at 100k

Once I got the car jacked up it was the brake rotor, the 4 bolt holes were worn, the rotor would move about an 1/8 of an inch either way wearing into the wheel studs. New studs and rotors are on the way.

This means your lug nuts weren't torqued properly.
