With a stock engine, you may be making a big downgrade in your overall car.
If you just want to make more noise, any change in the exhaust would do from a simple replacement of the front resonator with a straight pipe to changing out the muffler and tailpipe to a full cat back exhaust. Now if your planning on pushing more air/fuel into your engine than you may want a larger diameter exhaust with matching….,all the way to the rear bumper. Mind you changing out your exhaust may force you to change your sound system. As the background sound level inside your cobalt may over drive your sound system’s max output…ie ( can’t turn the radio up enough unless the cas is stopped )
