I hate the look of my stock steel wheels and hubcaps.. Im a tight wad and I dont want to buy anything fancy.. Would a set of cobalt stock aluminum 4 lug 5 spoke wheels painted black look good on my car? what size are they 16's?

I know a few of you have this setup on your car... my car is a Pontiac.. but the chevy emblem in the center wouldn't bug me too bad.. i could swap it over or just paint it .. Im a really good painter Ive painted many many cars and enough tractors to farm america lmao..

Thanks for your input.. about how much would this cost me? id give 150 for a set of the wheels.. and then buy new tires for them.. idc

Paint isnt an issue for me ..

and i havent found hardly a single set that i like .. im more of the ss/tc wheel kinda person and all the 4 lug wheels on the market are a little too tacky for me

a set of those stock wheels and some springs would complete my car

yea.. use the black alum ones for winter.. put snow tires on them.. and ive seen some black konigs that i liked but they were expensive lol

those alum wheels with a good gloss black base coat and a good coat of clear would be full of win and cheap! haha

Black wheels are the best.. :) i dont like chrome lol

idk these are my stock rims so i didnt have to buy them. they were really getting corroded n junky looking from all the salt we get on our roads here in winter so i redid them this is how they turned out. (they are kinda dirty in the pic tho)

heres how they looked before i redid them

when i get a set ill get them sanded real good up to 600 grit.. and put down a coat of ipoxy primer (we have some left over) and i have some black base coat left over also.. ill buy a quart of good clear coat and everything to mix the clear correctly and have one slick paint job.. that gold paint job you did turned out pretty good.. could i spray paint the little center cap? or would it get messed up installing it?

you could easily paint it if you wanted. i just chose to not paint it cuz i like how it matches the lugs.. thats just preference tho, no big deal

---------- Post added at 06:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:49 PM ----------

one thing to note of tho:

the stock GM clear coat on them is a beeotch to get off.. i took aircraft remover to get it off (as shown below)

---------- Post added at 06:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:50 PM ----------

after that i scuffed with 800 grit i believe and it looked like this

then primer

then obviously the finished product..
