2005 cobalt 2.2
I think I have the same problem, I have or had oil leaking I thought it was my water pump! It is coming out of that plate looking with 4 bolts! So I went n bought oil stop leak n It worked but I think I should of got the head oil stop leak! Hell, everyone is so money hungry you can't trust m" They said it would cost $1200.00 to fix! But see I had A1 work on my car n they are the only ones! And now I have problems! They put a new cooling in the front left side. I had to take it back couse there was oil all over the ground! Anyway, I need just one mechanic only. I wish it was me! haha.... So did you fix it?

Ok folks let’s discuss apples, watermelons and coconuts and have a valuable discussion.

with that said, what car are you speaking about and how many miles are on said critter. Knowing that the eotech engines can provide very very good service for many, many 10,s of thousands of miles with simple MAINTENANCE!!!
hoses, belts, and seals fall into normal maintenance items. Now some are easier to replace than others. So, from the images posted on this thread, onecan quickly tell the engine has a history of neglect and has not been cleaned for many many miles, leaving a mechanic the job of spending 1 to 2 hr just cleaning and letting the engine dry to see if it needs more cleaning to tell exactly where the oil is coming from.
If this car was brought into my shop, expect a 3hr bill at full shop rate before a repair estimate was given.

now clean your car and look where the fresh oil is coming from.
BTW, a front oil seal is a 2-4hr job and a $20 seal….your local shop rate will vary from $250/hr on left coast to $50/hr in a lower cost of living area.
Naturally. YMWV!

Go to a car wash and get to work cleaning the entire engine. Unless you fill up the engine with water, hosing off the entire engine is no big deal. Just don’t deliberately hose the ECM or TCM and don’t hose out the inside of the alternator. And do not get into the radiator fan.
it your unsure how to wash an engine, ask a mechanic to show you how to do it without wasting a bunch of time or parts.

PS one would normally remove the cover to clean the engine.
