I have the harnesses for the plugs on the back and all that, went to Walmart and got a plug in harness, and found a writeup on how to do it, I was having big problems with colors not matching and more than one wire going to one pin, I wasted 5 hours trying, does anyone have any advice or can make me a harness? I hate aftermarket radios and don't like the 05-06 style one, if nothing else, I'll bring it to an audio shop

At some point the factory decided to have the radio identified by the VIN of the car. The wrong radio will not work unless the VIN is programmed into it. To get the wiring to match you would need the FSM wiring diagrams for both years. Then you could match up the functions. GM is very good about wiring color codes. Speaker wires are basic and don't change much. But some use a power antenna, some use sub-woofers, etc. You would need to identify the power, memory, and the LAN wire that goes to the computer. The radio will not power on unless the VIN matches the car. You can hard wire any radio in to work, but it must be switched off separately or it will kill the battery.
