I have a 2007 Cobalt that had the ignition replaced under the recall. Since then, I have had intermittent problems with the car not starting. I get power to the accessories, but have no crank, no start. When I finally have get the ignition to crank, it cranks repeatedly before the car will start. Also, after trips on the highway, the ignition and the key are very hot to the touch. The dealership has been of no help whatsoever. Since the problem appears to related to the recall repair, no one else will touch it. Ideals?

I had similar problems with my 07 plus my ignition barrel was tight and hard to turn. The dealer told me they only did the recall once. I had to take it all apart cleaned the old grease and relube it with synthetic grease. It works fine now and don't know if was the cure yet, only time will tell.

Ignition key broke off

I was having issues with ignition switch since replacement too, after a while of it having a hard time taking key out it broke off in ignition. I got a recall for replacing the key, but they wont fix it unless I pay for new cylinder. I now have recently inspected the 2009 cobalt and right after it went crazy, all dash was blinking on and off and resetting. It also showed a lock security warning for a time. I`m afraid to go back to that dealer, any help?
