So this past weekend I painstakingly changed my heater core, and think I may have had some drips of coolant get into the passenger/interior fuse panel. My reason for thinking that as a possibility is because last night, my alarm started sounding for no reason, multiple times. I soon discovered my car thought the door was open when it clearly wasn't ("Door Ajar"), as well as receiving the "Trunk Ajar" and other minor electrical issues.

If I disconnect BCM C1, C2, and X3 to check for moisture, maybe brush it with a wire brush, etc. will it need to go through a reprogramming process? Or does it only need to go through a reprogramming if I were to replace the whole fuse panel?

Any help or other possible suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could spray it with an alcohol base cleaner like brake cleaner an then blow dry with air or hair dryer. Re-install and hope for the best. No re-flash necessary in this case.

I swear you keep this place alive and breathing man lol thanks for the quick reply. As for the cleaning process, that's definitely a relief to hear! I was reading your old thread about repairing a BCM and it started to sound intimidating & wasn't sure if reprogramming a BCM is necessary for simple disconnects, or just for replacing it entirely.

At the risk of taking up too much of your time, if cleaning it does not work, is there anything else I can check? Or does this sound like a textbook case of BCM issues? Thanks again for your help!

One step at a time, try this first and see if it eliminates any of your problems. I think it will, maybe add a bit of dielectric grease to keep the moisture out. And coolant lol
