Trying to help my sister with her base model 07, need a little insight from the pros. Car has just over 100k on it and it's throwing a code (no CEL though) for the knock sensor. I replaced it with a factory sensor and the code came right back. Can't see any damage to the wiring or anything, it looks fine. Need the code to go away so it will pass emissions, where should I start?

Well, is there actually a knock? You might try checking the spark plugs to make sure they all look good.

Not that I can hear, the engine runs and sounds just fine. I'm going to change plugs, reset everything and see what happens. Is there a way to check the sensor itself for a fault? In my experience, new doesn't always mean working properly.

Make sure oil levels are topped off, then have her fill once with high octane to see if it calms the code.
