So my front end just started making a knocking sound when I break. It typically only makes the sound right before I come to a stop while breaking, but I tried breaking firmly without slowing down first and the knocking sound was much more rapid. Sounds kind of like the knocking sound is repeating as the wheel is completing a rotation? I have lowering springs on stock suspension and have had them for a year. I'm hoping it's the struts as I was going to replace them anyways - any thoughts? If it's something else, then I can't afford struts right now. Have to fix the problem first.

Also: I'm in Florida and am planning on driving home to NC on Thursday... The noise started while I was here.

Hah, yeah. After I posted that I wondered if it was a cv joint problem. I would take it in and have it checked out asap just in case. Or you could get someone at an Advance or Autozone to run the diagnostic on it and see if they come up with anything.
