ok i just put a turbo on my 2.2L 5spd.... i have to drive it about 25 miles mostly on the highway. i was told to keep it under 2grand when shifting to not spool because of our dreaded limp mode... well im just wondering if any other 2.2s have had an issue with limp mode before tuning and if it does hit limp mode will it be safe enough for me to get to the tuner? thank you... i know about limp mode on other cars but never in a cobalt... so advice would be amaing! thank you!

Um is it tuned properly? Is the throttle body wired up properly? There are a bunch of things that can cause a boosted 2.2 to go into limp mode.

If it hits limp mode, you'll have to have it cleared.

Anyways, just stay in the slow lane. The Cobalt at 65mph tends to run closer to 3,000 in fifth.

He has to drive the car 25 miles to his tuner. The car is tuned for N/A still. In other words, if he hits boost, the car won't take kindly to it.

I'd just stay light on the throttle. If you have a boost/vac gauge like you should, just keep it out of boost.
