All 2-2.5 kits will sit lower in the rear, everyone one of them!!! no matter what anyone tells you. Allot of guys cut one full coil out of the front lowering springs to correct this. However this does make the ride a little stiffer. You will be ok with the stock FE1 suspension, some guys have gone 100K on their stock shocks and struts. The FE5 SS shocks and struts are a definite improvement and will make one hell of a difference but they are not required.

K-sports, yes I cut a coil, The spring rate is different when cutting a dropspring compared to a stock spring. No issues with rubbing, if I didn't have a driveway with a large hump at the top, I would cut another coil.
