I have b&gs and I'm lowered pretty good. Only spent $200 shipped for mine off a guy from another forum.

You don't have to upgrade shocks/struts immediately but its recommended soon after you install. Ive had mine on for 2 weeks and im good.

ss/tc shocks AND struts, not just shocks. you're also going to need to get strut mounts for the simple fact that they will need replacing sooner or later and they're cheap anyways. lowering springs can be found new from 120, just make sure they're a brand people use. you're looking at probably about 450-500 new or cut that in half for used.

hopefully i get alot of money back on taxes. when i bought the car i knew i wanted it lowered in the spring, didnt really think about needing other things other than lowering springs. And being 16 not easy to have an extra $500 to spend along with making the payments and everything. lol

keep in mind the pictures for the SSC are for the SS sc/tc, where they have 18 inch rims. not sure what yours are, but they'll look similar. it says only 1.5 and 1.30 drop, but that's also for the SS because they are already riding low. it will be more of a drop for you, as said before probably the 2.5/2.0 drop

Here is a how to on the struts...http://www.yourcobalt.com/forums/install-guides-diy/17171-how-diy-easy-alternative-lowering-spring-install.html
the shocks and rear springs couldnt be any easier. just two bolts for the shocks, make sure they go back in the correct way. the spring bucket can just be pushed down once the shock is off. study up on the struts before you tackle those. there are various ways of doing them, and multiple help threads in the suspension forum. check those out, if still confused ask for help. changing the struts can be dangerous if you dont understand how they work. if nothing else you can take them out of the car and take them to a shop, and that would save some money...
