I took out the interior piece that goes around the shift boot to paint it. Now I can't seem to get it back in right.

This picture isn't of mine, but on mine the top part of it seems flush, the bottom part (where the clip is) is kind of like sunk in.

I've tugged on it, trying to get it to fit. For some reason its not going.

I know this seems newbish, but its been bothering me for a week now.

Well, the actual trimming right around the shift boot is molded on to the rest of the piece which extends from right under the hvac to down by the E-Brake.

I'm just trying to fit it back around the shift boot, which is kicking my arse at the moment.

oh, I get it! Tab at the back goes under the trim, then slide the piece closest to you down until it clicks into place.

Or you can just completely remove the boot. Place in a box and ship it to me because my piece is broken.

Your choice!!

check that your clips arent broken or bent, theyre very brittle. dont force it much, it should just click in place.
