anyone else hit 50k yet... i am pushing 45 right now and the car has been great... mostly highway miles until 3 months ago when i was driving almost 100 miles a day 5 days a week for work for 6 months. any ideas or recommendations on what maintenance should be done or looked into at the 50k mark... the only thing i have ever done is oil (recently went to full synthetic) oil filter air filter and seafoam... any ideas are appreciated...

I'm running just under 55k. Last oil change I also changed the air filter and will be changing the cabin filter this time. The maintenance schedule doesn't call for plugs or fluid flushes at all though I may recharge my A/C this summer and anticipate flushing my manual transmission fluid when I change my clutch (no signs of it giving yet though, knock on wood).

Best thing to do is check with a local Shop on a 50K maintenance and see what they have listed. More than likely you'll just have listed:

Oil Change
Fuel Filter
Cabin Air Filter
Air Filter
and the other basic check points like: Brakes, tires, belt, exhaust etc.

Cabin air filters and fuel filters don't need to be changed at 50k. Maybe 75k. As long as you keep getting regular oil changes you will be fine for a long time. You won't need a coolant flush anytime soon unless it has been severely contaminated. In which case you have bigger problems lol. Dex-Cool is often rated for the majority of a car's life. Good call on full synthetic.

I'd recommend a fuel filter. I'm gonna change mine at every 30k. Cuz a clean filter flows fuel better...that's for sure and helps the mpg. If it's an automatic a new tranny filter and fluid would be nice now. I'm doing mine every 30k even tho it's recommended at 50k but better to be safe than sorry. Can't change a filter too many times. Um...a coolant flush would be nice at 60k cuz the Dex-cool is notorious for clumping up in the intake around the 75-100k mile range, so a nice flush and fresh Dex-cool would be good. Other than that you should be fine for the plugs I'd wait until 100k cuz we have iridium plugs which are a 100k mile plug. Um...as far as belts and hoses if you are planning on keeping this car for awhile...I'd recommend new belt around the 85k mile marker then around the 100k mile marker do the tune up, hoses and another radiator flush. That's just my .02.

The original Dex-Cool fluid was notorious for that. The Dex-Cool in today's engine flows easier and absorbs more heat. There is no problem with it.

I think you're spending way too much on maintenance. I guess if it buys you peace of mind then it's all good.
