hey guys, i am an owner of a 2005 base model cobalt. I've had it for about 2 years now (i think.) i purchased this car at a used dealership.
i used to drive a 95 blazer but that was getting old. i would get something fixed and the next day something else would be wrong and it was just getting to be too much.
so i purchased a cobalt hoping for better reliability and gas mileage.
but right now its a love hate relationship between my car and i. this thing makes so many noises and i'm worried that one day something is going to go completely wrong with the car...

Welcome! Yeah, known for lower control arm and saddle bushings going bad over time.

Even when struts go bad they don't usually make noise. When struts go bad you will feel excessive body roll, longer recovery after a bump, scalloping on tires and a reduced up-down wheel travel. (this is usually cause by water getting in shock cylinder " You can't compress water")

Always do the cheaper fix first. Not as painful and it gets you accustomed to paying out money you hate to part with.
