OK so i want to custom fabricate an iphone dock into my dash using bondo or epoxy putty kinda like this but i cant seem to find a place to put the dock where it isn't in the way of the vents or climate controls. any ideas of where i can put this? i want to be able to hide the iphone cord.

well i would like to have it up higher so i dont have to look down you know what i mean. i was thinking of putting it right above the stereo but then it would block the vents

personally I would fabricate one right under the ebrake in that little space. For me, I control my ipod from the head unit, so I put it in the left pocket where the trunk button is, so it is out of sight and looks clean. but if you need to control the music from the ipod, it gets more complicated. I would still put it where I said though. You don't like the song, just click the next button.

I was honeslty thinking about putting the mount in the little spot with the trunk button but the it would be a little bit harder to see when I need to change the song. I am gonna be getting a headunit soon that I can control my phone on it so I might jus do that for now.

hey everyone, wanted to know what your thoughts were on the placement of my iphone mount. its going to flow off the cluster hood and the cord will be hidden. the only thing i am worried about its matching the texture of the dash. I was thinking of taking some epoxy putty and putting it on the dash to match the texture then letting cure. when i go and mold the rest of the iphone mount to the dash with more epoxy putty, while it's still soft i would take the piece that i matched the texture with and "stamp" the soft putty and let it harden and hopefully have it match the texture of the dash. Let me know what you think. Will post pictures and tutorial when finished.

the only thing i am worried about is when the much anticipated iphone 4g comes out it will not fit the mount. if i put it in the cup holder i can always get a replacement insert. if i put it on the dash its not so easy to get a new dash you know.
