Thanks.
Local tire shop, Kauffman Tires.
I suggest taking them back and asking them to mount the tires properly. They didn't do the job right.

Those small painted dots on the sidewall of the tire? Those are so the tire can be properly mounted. They totally ignored them, or just don't know what they are for. Those dots on the sidewall of the tire indicate the low point of the tire in its shape and the valve stem hole indicates the high point of the wheel. The way to mount the tires properly is to make sure the tire is mounted on the wheel so that the paint dot is directly next to the valve stem hole of the wheel. This way, the final shape of the tire and wheel assembly is is much more of a circular shape. When the tire's paint dot is not mounted next to the valve stem hole, then the final shape is more oblong and can cause vibrations, poor ride, reduced tire tread life and cupping of the tires tread. It has nothing to do with balancing, but the actual final shape of the wheel and tire put together.

Tire manufacturers take extra steps to measure where the paint dot on the sidewall of the tire should be, so yes, it does matter.

Also, it looks like they did a static balance on the wheels, as there are no weights on the outside. Probably used tape weights. That's like using the old bubble balance. The best, most effective, vibration-free wheel balance is a computer spin wheel balance with the wheel weights on the inside edge and the outside edge of the wheel.

Seems like everyone here, (aside from you), is talking about how the tires, "look", but how about, how do they perform? How well do they handle, hold the road, compared to the old tires? How's the noise level? How do they perform in the rain? How's the fuel economy difference? Any mileage warranty? How's the steering response vs the old tires? What inflation pressures are you using? (I hope it isn't the maximum listed on the sidewall of the tire).

How about the four-wheel alignment? Did they provide you a before and after printout? How far was it out of specification? Did they straighten your steering wheel?

Well gcobalt05 is not the first person to do them.. I have seen quite a few balts with them on other sites. Plus you guys live in different states right? There was a yellow balt on here a few years ago that had almost IDENTICAL mods as me. Not to copy but because he liked the way they looked
