so this question is trying to figure out why my HID's seem dim even though they don't seem like it.

Ok so I went with the blue HID's and I can see them far on signs and stuff, but it seems they aren't hitting the road properly. I've had them aligned but I have to turn my fog lights on at night to see the road properly. Any ideas?

Common mistake! Your eyes see better at about 3800°K but not a lot of anything is at that colour except dandelion. Science tells us that the best colour temperature bulb is 5300°K but for driveability and road sign paint preferable colour temperature is closer to 5800°K. If your lights are in the 6500°K or higher I would think that you don't see much at night. Blue head lights and even in the purple range look good for show but do nothing to light your path.

Also, if you stuffed them in your stock headlights without doing a projector retrofit first, that's your other problem.
