Hi All,
I have an 06 Cobalt that the engine seized up in. I thought loss of oil pressure was upset that my son wouldn't pull over immediately when the light came on. He claimed the light never lit. Not like him to lie to me.
Got a used engine in it and just drove it yesterday. So far so good, light came on when I turned the key, went out when the engine fired up.
So when I got where I was going and shut it down, I turned the key on but didn't start it. All the indicators lit but after a number of seconds all the indicators went out including the oil light. Obviously no oil pressure so I'm thinking the oil light should have stayed on.
Now I need to know if that is normal it seems wrong to me. I was going to disconnect the wire to the sender to test it but that is no quick and easy thing to get at.
Anyone experience this or know if this is normal?
I really didn't want to ask a stranger in a parking lot to turn their key on and see what it does.

Thanks for any help,
Steve
